Mission and Vision

"Compelled by Christ's love, the members of
Beautiful Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church glorify God by:
Growing in their faith, Gathering together as believers, Going to our neighbors with the gospel."

As a redeemed, Spirit-filled, member of Christ's body,
a member of Beautiful Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church is committed to:

Growing in their Faith

Growing in the Word with fellow Christians in worship, group Bible classes or small group Bible studies, and through a personal devotional life.

(2 Peter 3:18) But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

(] Peter 2:2-3) Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in  your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Glorifying God through regular attendance in worship services.

(Psalms 150:1) Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.

(Psalms 122:1) A song of ascents. Of David. I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD.11

(Hebrews 10:25) Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Making faithful use of the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.

(Acts 2:42) They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

(Mat 28:19) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

(1 Cor 11:23-26) For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

Gathering Together as Believers

Acting in love toward other members by speaking well of one another and refusing to gossip.

(Ephesians 4:29) Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

(Matthew 18:15-17) "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

(Galatians 6:2) Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Discovering and using spiritual gifts and talents for service in the Body of Christ.

(Romans 12:6-8) We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

Partnering with the church for the Christian education of children.

(John 21:15) When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?” "Yes, Lord,” he said, ”You know that I love you.” Jesus said, "Feed my lambs.”

(Ephesians 6:4) Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Supporting the congregation with thank offerings that are:
Planned

(Luke 14:28) "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?

Regular

(1 Corinthians 16:2a) On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up,  so that when I come no collections will have to be made.

Proportional

(1 Corinthians 16:2b) On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving  it up, so that when I come no collections  will have to be made.

First-fruits

(Proverbs 3:9) Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops

Faith-filled

(Malachi 3:10) Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

Praying for Beautiful Savior's leaders and fellow members.

(Ephesians 6:18) And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

(1 Timothy 2:1) I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--

Refusing to hold membership in unscriptural organizations such as lodges and Scouts.

(2 Corinthians 6:14) Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

(Romans 16:17) I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.

Refusing to live in obvious acts of the sinful nature.

(Galatians 5:19-21) The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Accepting brotherly admonition when clinging to false doctrine or ungodly living.

(Matthew 18:16-17) But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' lf he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Going to our neighbors with the gospel

Sharing Christ with unchurched through personal evangelism and mission work.

(Acts 1:8) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. "

(Mark 5:19) Jesus did not let him, but said, "Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.

(Matthew 28:19-20) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. "
